Meet the Troublemakers

Sharp Skills. Zero Ego.

Every person at Ingenio left a bigger firm because they wanted to practice law differently. Less bureaucracy. More impact. These are lawyers who pick up the phone on weekends — not because they have to, but because they actually care about your deal getting done. We built this firm on a simple idea: you deserve legal counsel that moves as fast and thinks as boldly as you do.

Principal & Founder

LLM (Tax), LLB/LLL

JP built Ingenio Law because he was done watching businesses get mediocre advice from bloated firms. He provides corporate and tax law services to Canadian and foreign clients, with a particular focus on corporate and commercial transactions with tax complexities — including business reorganizations and sales of private businesses. He serves as a corporate director, trustee, and trusted advisor to family offices.

Before founding Ingenio, JP was a partner with a large national law firm and an international professional services firm. He started his career with a judicial clerkship at the Tax Court of Canada — the kind of foundation that means he knows exactly how the other side thinks.

He holds an LLM in Tax Law from HEC / Université de Montréal and an LLB/LLL (civil & common law) from the University of Ottawa. He has completed the CICA In-Depth Tax Courses (Parts I, II & III), the CBA's Tax Law for Lawyers, and Bloomberg BNA's US International Tax courses.
